when single...it just seems cold and not really satisfying

its never really satisfying to me....I sometimes feel like its a waste if I have a SO and masterbating alone...but then I think if single it might be more sad cuz you don't have anyone - IDK.

I tend to do it more when I am having regular sex, it seems my drive is way higher, i am horny all the time and just love orgasming...but alone, it is more just a stress relief than one for pleasure...plus i like doing it for a lover ;-)

I can agree to that. Mostly because that's how I function, though... When involved with someone, I still kind of extend the offer of participation to my partner... As in, we discuss it or give each other "missions" or just fantasize about each other. When I'm not dating someone, I still have fun fantasizing and it's a nice release... but it's not contributing to a relationship in anyway. So the energy put into it just evaporates instead of fueling naughty li'l exchanges with the beau to make things a bit more fun when we're apart. I don't think it's ever lonely or sad... Just different. You may desire physical contact after a sex drought when masturbation doesn't fulfill you as much... but the act of masturbating isn't sad or lonely at those times.

I think maybe it is the emotional connection...without it, things seem, flat and less pleasurable...I myself get off more on the emotional connection and others do as well...maybe that is just how it is for some of us, and not that we are doing it wrong
